Are you hiding your dark side?

Posted at 12:50 pm under Book Reviews,Life Coaching

I met Debbie Ford in San Francisco earlier this year as she was preparing for her movie debut.  She has a phenomenal message and I highly recommend this book:

This book shines a bright light of awareness into the dark corners of your heart, mind and soul.  Yes, it asks you to look where you probably don’t want to look.  In fact, you’ve probably spent most of your life running from these parts of yourself.  And that’s exactly why Debbie Ford asks you to go there:

Because you cannot live a fulfilling, purpose-driven life while you deny and hide any part of yourself.

I know, it sucks.  But, it’s true.  And this book will guide you through the grueling process step-by-step.  I recommend that you read this book with a partner.  Let me know if you’re up for it, because I wouldn’t mind reading it again.  Wait.  I haven’t actually finished it all the way through.  Yeah, I guess I need the support of a partner.  Like I said, let me know if you’re up for this and we can read it together.

The self-examined life, eh? :) I think about things I need to work on — my conscience just brings them up to me, like : “Hey, what are you doing here?!” It sounds like a good book, but I really don’t have much time for reading these days with a newborn and a toddler in the house! I admire all these bloggers who not only blog but read books too!

Hi Cassandra, thanks for the link and the recommendation, I love the concept of the shadow, I have worked with it ‘intimately’ in holistic healing school through the work of Eva Pierrakos (fear no evil)! very profound work…

I would love to do a bit more exploring. I think it’s incredibly important, and it’s not often we find the motivation and direction to explore those dark corners of one’s self. I’ll have to add this one to my book list (which is currently INCREDIBLY long). It sounds like it could be an enlightening read.
