My Mom Rocks Contest

It used to be that the “best” moms were ones that did everything all the time for everyone without ever asking for anything return.  Yeah well, that was until we smartened up and realized that being everything to everyone is not only impossible, it’s crazy!

My Inspiration Lounge is taking a stand to redefine motherhood and has just launched the My Mom Rocks! contest:

What is a “Mom” Really?

June Cleaver used to epitomize the American Mom. Ok, we know June Cleaver was swell. But, really, she is just one definition of a “mom”, and very different from many of the moms of the new millennium! We even think the term “mom” should be redefined! A mom* can be any woman in your life who supports your dreams, builds your confidence, listens to you, is there for you, shows compassion, and just plain inspires you to be a better version of yourself!! Sure, sometimes she is actually your mother, but maybe she’s a grandmother, a friend’s mother, a teacher, a mentor, an aunt, a neighbor…you tell us who she is and why your mom* rocks!!

I personally adore Misty Gibbs (the founder of My Inspiration Lounge) and invite you to click here to enter a woman (or 2, 3, etc) who has been an instrumental part of your Mom Team!  There are some really cool prizes.  In fact, I hear there are even ones that haven’t been announced yet…

    I know that my Mom is a woman of strength, knowledge, wisdom, understanding and love. I am more and more proud to know I am a product of her. If there was ever a woman who is the epitome of it all, it is my Mom. I am told I am so much like my mom and the more I see her in me, the more I know I have a chance of making it and overcoming the many obstacles I keep encountering. I am proud to be like my Mom. If I could go back in time and take back some of the hurtful things done and said when I was younger, I would do so and wipe all memory from her mind. If I could pull the true love and feeling from my sister that I know is there for my Mom, I would pull it out and wrap her in all of its affection. Her hateful and demented thoughts are not a product of her upbringing….. none of that existed in our childhood. If only I could change the fateful day my Brothers life was taken….. He was having the same epiphany that I now find myself having….. that he has the best parent in the world. He told me so. I don’t like affection and I’m not good with sharing so I don’t know how to tell my Mom how I feel and really mean it and have her truly know the depth of my feelings. My Mom is an amazing woman.
