I am one of the most successful FEMpreneurs on the planet!

Simply Fearless FEMpreneurs

Simply Fearless FEMpreneurs

Oh my goodness…I inadvertently called myself one of the most successful FEMpreneurs on the planet! And guess what? I’m not taking it back.

Just this week I decided to dedicate my life coaching practice to  FEMpreneurs {women business owners & founders} and so I rewrote my bio blurb.  Check it out:

If you were to look at Coach Cassandra Rae’s life on paper you would think that she’d be living in the projects and on welfare. In fact, there were many a peeps who told her just that. You see, her life has taken her through domestic violence, homelessness, the welfare system, teenage pregnancy, miscarriage, divorce, drugs, and abortion. And yet, she has risen above it all. As a single mother, she put herself through Hartnell College and the University of California, Berkeley. She has learned how to turn all of her life’s challenges into stepping stones. Today she thrives with her husband and daughter in Sunnyvale, California where she runs her own Life Coaching Practice. She is one of the most unexpected and successful FEMpreneurs on the planet. If she can do it, so can you!

I really only intended for “the most” part to apply to the unexpectedness and not the successful piece, but now that it’s published I am going to leave it as-is.  Oy! The voice of fear is totally piping up, but I am not going to let it stop me.

Do I see myself as one of the most successful FEMpreneurs on the planet? Well, yes and no. Do I qualify in terms of dollars? No. But, do I qualify in terms of talent, passion, and dedication? OH HECK YES!

So I am putting down my editing pen and letting it stand as a declaration to the world {and myself!} that I am one of the most successful FEMpreneurs on the planet.  Here I come, Oprah!

Stressed Out? Life is S.I.M.P.L.E.

DSC_0092

Okay, so the truth is…my life has been crazy hectic for the past 2 weeks!  I haven’t blogged.  I haven’t followed up with potential clients.  And I’ve even left some friends hanging.  Ouch!

One of the up-sides of being so busy is that it’s forced me to get clear about my intentions and priorities.  It’s also triggered some parts of me that get to go on snooze when everythings running smoothly and these parts definitely needed some time, love, and attention.  Yes, they might feel uncomfortable and I’d rather have them on snooze, but I’m better off when all parts of me are cared for and nurtured.

Okay, I had no idea I was going to share that with you when I sat down to write.  What I do want to share with you is something that’s really helped me process the stress.  It is the perspective that life is S.IM.P.L.E. and when you stop to think about it…life truly is simple.  It’s what we do with it that gets complicated.  So here’s a handy dandy acronym to help you out whenever you get stressed out:

S.tep One ~ the next step is only one step
I.magine ~ pretend that everything you need to do is already done: how did you do it all and how does it feel?
M.atters most ~ ask yourself what matters most and give yourself permission to focus on it
P.ause and pray ~ or meditate, center yourself, do nothing for 10 minutes, you get the picture
L.et go ~ release the pressure, it doesn’t help and the world will not come to an end if you don’t do everything on your to-do list – in fact, no one else might not even notice!
E.xpress gratitude ~ consistently choose to look through the eyes of thankfulness, wonder, and appreciation ESPECIALLY when it feels like your world is falling apart

Watch me on Video as a Sexy Shoe Model for the Viva La Diva Spring Fling!

I had the absolute pleasure of attending the Spring Fling by Viva La Diva last night.  It was an amazing mix of networking, socializing, eating, drinking, and dancing.  In fact, it’s a whole new way of networking that I simply adore!  I don’t see any reason to network any other way.  Here’s a blurb from their website:

Your $45 ticket includes a delicious buffet catered by the renowned Faz Restaurant, complimentary cocktail or beverage, Calypso music from www.LemoLive.com, live belly dancing, and a chance to meet EVERYBODY in our Speed Networking Session. We are also featuring a Sexy Shoe Fashion Show and Pole Dancing Demo from www.JewelSexpression.com.

And guess what? I got to model in the Sexy Shoe Fashion Show!  It included a little trip around the pole and I am so surprised how powerful the experience was.  I mean, think about it, how often do you walk through a room full of people, holding your head high, and flaunting your beautiful body?!  It was exhilarating and empowering.  I’m so grateful for the experience and now I’m going to share it with you!  Watch this video to see me strut my stuff (I’m the second model):

I love the Spring Fling hosts:

I need your advice, please.

So tomorrow is our annual Cal football game. We used to be season ticket holders and go to all the home games. But, then we realized that it was taking so much energy – one Saturday event would consume the whole weekend really because Sunday we were too tired to do much else. Plus, we have Gracie the Chihuahua and a busy teenage daughter. So we whittled it down to one game a year and tomorrow’s the day. We picked this day months ago and our good friends bought the tickets for us. It’s even the birthday of another friend who we’ve chipped in to buy a gift for.

Here’s where I need your advice.

The thing is…tomorrow is also BizTechDay in San Francisco. So many of my entrepreneur friends have invited me to go. In fact, I’ve even been invited to go at no cost. Damn. I really want to go. The solopreneurs that I look up to are going and I know it would be really good for my business to attend.

Here’s another catch.

The Hubs and Daughter have said that if I cancel going to the game, then they’ll cancel too. They said, “It’s simply not the same without you.” At first I was like, “Damn! That’s a lot of pressure.” It’s true. I feel like I’m deciding for all of us and not just me. But, I know that’s not entirely true. I also know how important my presence is to the friends we’ve promised to go with.

But, the truth is my heart is at BizTechDay. I mean, I’ve known about it for quite some time and knew that I was already booked and it wasn’t a big deal. Until I started receiving personal invitation from people I really admire.

Crap. What should I do?

Oh my heaven…and I just remembered that another really good friend who is moving away soon is having a baby shower tomorrow and I really want to go to that too. Double crap! I feel torn in so many different directions and I feel loyal to everyone…which also makes me feel loyal to none.

Now I really need your help.

Oh, and while I was writing this Daughter tells me, “You’re not supporting me. You’re just pressuring me. You’ve done nothing but pressure me all week.”

Argh.
