How to ask the Universe to send you what you DON’T want
Just yesterday I wrote about writing a daily Vision Paragraph. It’s funny because today when I went to write one, I found that I actually didn’t believe what I was writing. No that’s not what was happening. I didn’t feel what I was writing. This is an important distinction because it’s normal to have some skepticism about what you’re writing – especially if you are visioning big and bold for yourself. You might even actually say to yourself, “This isn’t possible.” and at the same time you can feel the hope, the energy, and the love for it. Feeling how good it would feel to achieve the dream is the most important element because that is the powerful request which inspires the universe to move on your behalf.
So what do you do when you don’t feel it?
Good quest. {Oh I meant to type “question” and instead I typed “quest”. How interesting. I guess a question is a quest for an answer!}
It’s important not to push yourself into it. If you’re not feeling it, you’re not feeling it. The more you try to push yourself into it, the more you will resist – which inadvertently sends a powerful message to the universe to send you what you don’t want. So here are two things you can do instead:
1. Write what you can feel
Step back from the initial vision that you were writing or going to write about and begin a new one with something like, “I am now fully accepting and respectful of where I’m at.” And then go on to describe how it feels and express your gratitude. If this doesn’t work, then…
2. Don’t write at all
Instead of pushing yourself forward, allow yourself to go back and read what you’ve written in the past. If you begin to feel uplifted and positive about what you’re reading, great. Simply spend some time reading, then close your journal and call it a day. If you begin to feel resistant, then close your journal and call it a day. Respecting the part of you that doesn’t want to engage in the process is so important. In fact, it is this act of respect that will allow you to come back tomorrow and try again.
Thank you so much for reading and allowing me to share this process with you. I have gained so much from writing about it and if feels even better to know that it’s available for others to benefit from as well.
