100 Things I Fear: energy work

76. {12/06/09} I did something totally new today! I gave a jin shin jitsu treatment to my daughter. And by “gave” I mean that I was the one putting my hands on her to help unblock and move the energy in her body.  I was afraid of doing it wrong, but it really was very easy and when I relaxed, I could feel what Lennie {the trained practitioner} was explaining.  It was so cool!  And my daughter was able to fully relax and get a good night’s rest – something that had alluded her for quite some time previously.

For All the 100 Things I Fear Peeps

Hi there! Coach Cassandra Rae here.  Do you have a few minutes to chat?

Oh good. Hasn’t this been such an amazing process to face 1 fear a day? Don’t you feel courageous, bold, and empowered?

What? Oh…you feel bad because you haven’t kept up with it.  Yeah, I know what you mean.  I didn’t keep up with it either.  In fact, that’s why I’m calling you today.  Can you believe that I didn’t update my list for almost the entire month of October?!  It’s just that there was so much going on in my life.  I didn’t have the time or the energy to keep up with it.  In fact, it was probably good for my health to let it go.

Oh yeah…I know what you mean.  When things in my personal life get whacked so does everything else and it doesn’t matter how much I want to do stuff.  I simply have to rearrange to accommodate my priorities.  Speaking of which, that brings me back to why I’m calling.  I wanted to share with you that I’m thinking about switching it up and I would really love to receive your feedback.  You see, I found that the first 17 days of the challenge were the most powerful.  It was on the forefront of my mind.  I learned so much about fear and how it works.  I made some incredible strides.  And it didn’t turn into a burden because I kept up with it.

So you found it easier in the beginning too, eh?

It also occurred to me that habits are built in 21 days.  In fact, I tend to do a lot of my groups and programs in multiples of 21 because of that.  So what would you think about switching up the 100 Things I Fear commitment to a 21 day commitment instead of a 100 day one?

No!  We wouldn’t face 100 fears in 21 days!  That would be even crazier, right? No, I was thinking that we could all make a commitment to face 21 fears in 21 days instead of 100 fears in 100 days.

Yeah, I’ll keep going with my initial 100 Things I Fear challenge through the end of 2009.  But, I wanted to provide an alternative for people because it’s such an awesome idea and the last thing I want to happen is for it to turn into something people beat themselves up over.  That’s like the opposite of the intention of the whole thing!

I know, right? Plus, a few of my fabulous FEMpreneur friends encouraged me to buy the 100ThingsIfear domain and so I did.  Yay!  And I’m thinking about setting up a whole blog dedicated to this process.  What do you think about that?

Oh you have to get going now?  No problem.  Will you please do me a favor and post your thoughts on my blog?

Thank you so much! And I look forward to reading your comments…

Living Life from Center: a whole new you

One of the things my clients tell me over and over again how much they love about our work together is the Simple Centering Exercise we do at the beginning of all sessions.  It’s such a great way to let go of the busy-ness of life and center yourself in your own wisdom.  I’m posting one such Centering Exercise in this blog post and I invite you to check it out and listen to it whenever you sit down at your computer to work.  It’s an excellent way to focus your attention, feel better, and ground yourself in your own creativity.  Mmmm…I simply love it!

Oh!  And it’s also great to use when you’re stressed out!

Forget About Doing a Good Job

Capture the darkness to see the light“Capture the darkness to see the light”

c: hi god

g: hi cassandra

c: how are you today?

g: peachy. how are you?

c: hopeful. i really want to do a good job with the book

g: is that a desire that’s going to get in your way?

c: well maybe a little.  it does feel super important

g: what’s more important creating the book or wanting to do a good job?

c: creating it of course!

g: then you are free from wanting to do a good job – you don’t need to do a good job.  you simply get to do a job.  gather blank paper and a folder or a binder and get started.  you already have the first few pages written in your head.  it doesn’t matter how you organize any of it right now.  it’s organic.

c: oh! and I can print out pages with photos on them and use them to write on!

g: that’s an excellent idea if it inspires you.  don’t forget you are transcribing.

c: yes, transcribing.  directly from my soul.

g: yes, which is my portal to you – it’s how we connect

c: yes, thank you!  off I go now…

Are you hiding your dark side?

I met Debbie Ford in San Francisco earlier this year as she was preparing for her movie debut.  She has a phenomenal message and I highly recommend this book:

This book shines a bright light of awareness into the dark corners of your heart, mind and soul.  Yes, it asks you to look where you probably don’t want to look.  In fact, you’ve probably spent most of your life running from these parts of yourself.  And that’s exactly why Debbie Ford asks you to go there:

Because you cannot live a fulfilling, purpose-driven life while you deny and hide any part of yourself.

I know, it sucks.  But, it’s true.  And this book will guide you through the grueling process step-by-step.  I recommend that you read this book with a partner.  Let me know if you’re up for it, because I wouldn’t mind reading it again.  Wait.  I haven’t actually finished it all the way through.  Yeah, I guess I need the support of a partner.  Like I said, let me know if you’re up for this and we can read it together.

Are you a networking solopreneur like me?

As a solopreneur (one-woman-business) networking can be a very effective tool for growing your business.  I’ve been involved with about 10 or so groups throughout the last couple of years and have gotten very choosy about which ones to make a commitment to.  Currently, I only belong to one: CWIN (conscious women innovatively networking). And this is one reason why:

Basket of Friends

You see, I’m kinda going through some stuff right now with my extended family.  It’s the kind of stuff that grabs your attention quick, forces you to scrutinize your priorities, and if necessary make drastic changes.  Well, one of the drastic changes I’ve made is to take a break from my business.  Yup, currently I’m on sabbatical through the first week of September.  And when I shared what was going on with the ladies of CWIN they sent me this amazing gift basket from All the Buzz.

I was so surprised when it was delivered and when I opened up it up…Oh My Gosh! it’s the best ever! It’s like the person who made it knew me personally. It had a beautiful journal, yummy cookies, tea, & chocolate, sweet smelling bath products, and even a bag of gourmet trail mix. Oh and a candle too. It was absolutely perfect and I felt so loved and supported.

I’m so fortunate to belong to a networking group that is more like a supportive group of friends.  Thank you, ladies of CWIN.  You make such a positive difference in my life.
